As we observe the Christian seasons—Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost—we will focus on discovering Jesus in the Old Testament. House of Shadows includes Sunday worship services, sacred gatherings, and contemplative workshops. By using the narrative of a mysterious journey through a house as an allegory for reading and understanding the Old Testament, participants will be excited to explore Scripture as they search for Jesus on every page.

These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
Colossians 2:17

A contemplative workshop is a quiet, intimate, and informal gathering focused on spiritual disciplines and practices. In Departure Stories we’ll discover how some of the faithful in the Old Testament, by obediently leaving what was familiar, were shadows of Jesus, who would leave His heavenly home to fulfill the greatest mission of all. We’ll explore this through the spiritual practice of Scripture copying and journaling. Hot cocoa and fireside conversation are provided. All workshop dates are the same format and have a maximum capacity of six.

The Hall

The hallway is dark. I'll light a few candles on my way out. By the time you finish reading there should plenty of light to help you find your way.

a sacred gathering to seek wisdom

Tuesday, January 7, at 6:30PM

A contemplative workshop is a quiet, intimate, and informal gathering focused on spiritual disciplines and practices. During The Spiral Staircase we’ll explore the spiritual practice of Biblical meditation. Biblical meditation is pondering the words of Scripture with a receptive heart, trusting the Holy Spirit to work in you through those words. This practice can help us to know God more deeply.
