Greater Holiness

    A Prayer for Greater Holiness

    Father,

I come to you in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ. I ask you for greater holiness, because you have said, “You shall be holy, for I am holy”. I present to you my body as a living sacrifice of worship. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, so please enable me to glorify you with my physical being. Please give me grace to control my body in holiness and honor.

Help me not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewal of my mind. Help me to think about things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy in your sight.

I am helpless to do these things in my own strength, so I ask you to empower me by your Holy Spirit. Help me to walk by the Spirit, and not to gratify the desires of the flesh. I pray that you, Lord, the God of peace, will sanctify me completely. May my whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of my Lord Jesus Christ. You are faithful; you will surely do it.

    Amen.
