Run For God VIII: Chase Your Lion!
RFG Season 8 will begin on Monday, February 11 with the annual Carbo-Palooza orientation event. If you have never participated in a Run for God season, come learn all about what you can expect and how you will complete a 5K with the encouragement of friends, the commitment to a plan, and the soul-nourishing aspect of a Christ-centered couch-to-5K training plan. While training doesn't official begin until Monday, February 18, you will not want to miss this time of fellowship and overview. If you have participated in the past, come learn about the 2019 study theme, race details, and catch up with other RFG alumni (and yes, there will be a few goodies from the prize closet ...).
The excitement of RFG training, sharing, connecting, laughing, and growing, awaits. And while last year we learned to "run with horses" (Jeremiah 12:5), this year we will learn to become "lion chasers" (2 Samuel 23:20). Following orientation night, each Monday evening for twelve weeks, from 6:15 PM to 7:44 PM, will begin with a brief stretch & learn, followed by the week's first run / walk. We'll return for the always fun, sometimes chaotic, time of connection, and then conclude with a lesson on chasing your lions.
Childcare is provided. Registration is required. A fee of $50 (collected on Monday evenings, not required to register online) includes a 2019 RFG shirt, entry into the May 11th ROCC 5K, training materials and meeting supplies. This is community-wide offering, so invite a friend, co-worker, or neighbor to join you.
Whether you are looking to walk or run your first, fastest, or next 5K, sign up now and/or let me know of any questions.
