A Prayer for Students Starting the School Year
Father, I come to you in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ, and I commit to you this new school year. I pray this would be a year of academic and spiritual growth for me. Please help me to enjoy learning and to work with all my heart as if working for you.
Please guide me in my friendships this year. Help me to have friends who are wise in your eyes. Help me to avoid people who would be bad influences on me. Please help me to be a good influence on others and to help them come to know you and grow in faith.
Lord, you know I’ve been anxious about this school year. I cast my anxiety on you. I trust you now for your promised peace. Lord Jesus, I rest in the assurance you gave your disciples when you said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
Thank you for your care for me. Amen
