Samaritan Ministries

Local Outreach

Samaritan ministries is an interdenominational, volunteer-based Christian ministry that serves hungry and homeless people 365 days and nights a year. Programs include a community Soup Kitchen, a shelter for homeless men, an onsite substance abuse recovery program (Project Cornerstone), and an onsite mental health clinic in collaboration with Wake Forest Baptist Department of Psychiatry called HOT (Homeless Opportunities and Treatment). Over 3,000 volunteers help at Samaritan throughout the year in the Soup Kitchen and at Samaritan Inn.

How You Can Help:

We have an opportunity to serve as a church on the first Saturday night of each month.  This involves serving dinner, cleaning up, fellowship with the guests of the overnight shelter, watching for safety during the night (you sleep except for a 2-hour shift) and serving and cleaning up breakfast.  The commitment is from 6:15pm - 7am.  If you want more information please email Jon and Holly Brower or call them at 336.293.3436.
